What a great day on the Tour d Kent yesterday. A big thanks to everyone who turned up at the various points and made thieir donations to the cause. We'll be loading photos in the 'gallery' here shortly (some already on Facebook).
The day started at 9am at the OASIS cafe in Old Romney - with a dozen or so scooters - weather was overcast and a bit damp. As we rode across to Folkestone, the sun came out and so did the people and their scooters. We were greated by another bunch waiting for us at Folkestone Harbour, then De Bradley Wharf in Dover, about 30 scooters at this point. Up the Jubilee way, we made our way into Deal, where at the 'Cafe on the Green' another 30 or so scooters were already waiting for us (from various clubs). We left Deal in a blue haze, and off via Sandwich by-pass to Margate. We all pulled up at The Emporium where we were treated to Tea's, coffee's and sausage rolls - thanks guys for that, much appreciated. Off again to Canterbury, hampered by road closures and alternative routing required, we managed to split but luckily all met up again by Faversham. More shortly......
